UPDATE: Reservations closed again shortly after this post was made. Were you amongst the luck ones to get in?

Disney dining fans are eagerly awaiting news of the reopening date for Chef de Cuisine Brian Piasecki’s popular California Grill. There’s still no news on when that will be other than in “late summer” but Disney Food Blog is reporting that limited Advanced Dining reservations are now being taken for the reimagined eatery.

If you’re looking to snag a coveted California Grill reservation on or after November 18 booking times are now available! If you’re have 180 days out from your Disney Resort Reservation be sure to use the chance to book 10 days after your check-in date, for what is sure to be a difficult table to book. As Disney finalizes the details of this must do restaurant and sets an official grand reopening date reservations before November 18th could appear, so if you love the California Grill and can’t wait for its new breath of life keep checking back on the My Disney Experience website for possible openings.

In an interview with Disney Files Magazine Chef Brian talks about the careful planning that it took to reimagine this popular eatery. There’s a new sushi concept that elevates the experience what was already said to be the best sushi on property. The revamped kitchen will be full of high tech “toys” like the sous-vide water baths, and “Florida’s only cast-iron-surfaced Plancha grill.” The updated menu will feature a 24 hour braised beef short rib, and a holistic duck dish that uses every paletable part of the bird. Oh! Did I mention the freshly expanded wine list too?

Walt Disney World for Grown Ups says “The initial plan was for a kitchen refurbishment, but that soon turned into a grand vision to reimagine the entire restaurant. Disney partnered with the Puccini Group – a California-based design firm – to create a space that is nostalgic and modern.” The space will feature mid-century modern design with clean lines and nods to the Mary Blair artwork that’s so central to the Contemporary Resort experience. One notable front of the house design feature will be two new 10 seat “communal” tables with a prime Magic Kingdom fireworks viewing position. And – watching Wishes from the California Grill will be more enjoyable than ever with a brand new upgraded sound system providing the soundtrack.

I can’t wait! Can you? Have you be able to get a reservation at the all new California Grill? if so, leave a comment and let us know!
