Top 5 Ways to Keep Cool at Disney’s Contemporary Resort

Main Resort Pool

While the temperatures in Orlando are usually warm, when the summer months roll around it will be downright HOT and you will want to find ways to stay cool during your stay at Disney’s Contemporary Resort. Our “top five” list goes beyond the pool and includes some fun on the water and one activity on dry land.

1. The Pools – There are two pools at Disney’s Contemporary Resort (and one pool at Bay Lake Tower). There isn’t much themeing to the pools, but the understated design goes well with the overall modern theme at the resort. The main pool includes a 17-foot water slide for those of you seeking some thrills. The smaller, bullseye pool is quieter.

2. Water Sports – If you’re looking for adventure on Bay Lake, look no further than Sammy Duval’s Watersport Centre located at the Contemporary’s marina. You can book 1 or 2 hour sessions for water skiing, wake boarding or tubing. To make reservations you can book online or call (407) 939-0754.

3. Fishing – Looking to catch some fish at Disney? Book a 2-hour private catch and release fishing tour at the Bay Lake Marina. Charters can accommodate up to five guests and tours depart in the morning or afternoon. For more details or to reserve a charter call 407-WDW-BASS.

4. Parasail – How amazing would it be to get a bird’s eye view of the Bay Lake and the Magic Kindgom? You can find out by booking a “flight” at Sammy Duval’s Watersport Centre. Prices start at $95 for a single rider. Call (407) 939-0754 to make reservations.

5. Cabanas – If you’re just looking to relax poolside or on the shores of Bay Lake, rent a cabana for the day. Your cabana includes lounge chairs, iPod docking station, a fruit basket, flat screen TV, and a fridge stocked with complimentary beverages. Cabanas can be rented for full or partial days.
