5 ideas for a day at the Contemporary Resort

Boats waiting for rental

Something I always advocate for those taking a longer Disney World vacation is a resort day. It’s good to have this day about midway through your vacation to take a break from the crowds and walking at the theme parks.

Here are 5 great ways you can enjoy the activities, amenities and dining at the Contemporary during your resort day!

1. An array of water sports choices

One of the great advantages of staying at the Contemporary is access to Sammy Duvall’s Watersports. You could spend an entire afternoon taking advantage of the water activities offered, like parasailing or riding a Sea-Doo over Bay Lake and Seven Seas Lagoon. There’s also water skiing, wakeboarding, and tubing! You can even rent a boat to drive yourself. Click here to see the rates and activities offered at Sammy Duvall’s.

2. Bass fishing with the gang

Also offered at the Contemporary are bass fishing excursions. Two-hour, private catch-and-release fishing sessions for up to 5 guests are available departing the Bay Lake Marina. Click here for more info and pricing.

3. Monorail Crawl with the adults
For the adults in your party, try the Seven Seas Monorail Crawl! Tour the other two resorts around the Seven Seas Lagoon via their lounges and libations. Click here to learn more about planning your own monorail crawl!

4. Poolside relaxation

If relaxation is more your speed, then stake out a prime spot around the main pool or the “bullseye” pool, spread out your towel on a chaise lounger and let the sun soak in. You can even rent a cabana! Click here for more info about the Contemporary Resort pool area.

5. Dining and fireworks at California Grill

For a fitting end to a full day of activities at the Contemporary, get a dinner reservation for signature dining at the California Grill. Be sure to stick around to see Wishes and the Electric Water Pageant!
